Happy New Year from the Brighton ArtsFORUM!

The next forum session is due to be held February 22nd.

Call for Submissions

The ArtsFORUM is now in the process of organising its 2012 program. If you have an unfinished lens-based project and are seeking feedback, please get in touch.

All 2011 and 2012 presenters will be given an opportunity to exhibit as part of a collective group during this year's Brighton Photo Fringe Festival.

The ArtsFORUM aims to facilitate supportive, critical debate where artists can articulate and discuss the concerns of their ‘work in progress’ in the context of a peer-led environment.

We hope to see you at the next ArtsFORUM open critique session held Tuesday, December 13th.

In this session we will see unfinished projects presented by two Fine Art Photographers:

Emer Gillespie will present, 'Picture you, Picture me'; a collaborative and explorative portrait project with Emer's daughter Laoisha. By directing each other through role-play and instruction, they decide how the other stands, which direction to face and even facial expressions, creating a playful environment where the camera becomes more than an artistic tool, but an instrument of amusement.

Martin Everett will be discussing his work, 'Villa Real - the light Pours Out of Me '. A project questioning a serious of housebound images opposing perception and daydreaming, extensity and shelter, or slipping and cradling. Or rather is there an intertwining of such polarities in which they are visited in passing, creating a circuit of duration within which they are forever contained, both framing and illuminating each other.

When: Tuesday 13th December, 6.30 - 8:15pm
